Open out and play to step and combine to receive and play


Description

In this session we are focusing on opening out and playing to step and combine to receive and play forward. The drill begins with the coach passing to the player who looks to move off the cone to receive on the back foot to open out and play back to the coach. The player then looks to step in to receive and set back to the coach. The player then looks to scan and drop back to the cone for the coach to then pass the ball into the player who aims to touch the ball around the front of the cone whilst moving round the back to meet the ball and play forward. The player should scan to be aware of their surroundings and aim to receive on the back foot. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
