Fast feet to meet the ball and drop to receive on the back foot
Description
In this session we are focusing on fast feet to meet the ball and dropping to receive on the back foot. The drill begins with the coach passing to the player who looks to set back and then drop to the cone/pole behind to receive. When the player receives the ball they aim to open out on the back foot to then pass back to the coach. The player then moves up centrally to receive and set back, before moving quickly around the cone and back into the middle to meet the ball and then drop again. The player should ensure that they check their shoulder and open the hips when opening on the back foot and stay light on their feet when moving around the cone. Each set should consist of 3 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
