Receiving skills and speed of play to combine quickly
Description
In this session we are focusing on our receiving skills and speed of play to combine quickly. The drill begins with the coach passing to player 1, who sets back and moves the outside of the cone/pole. The coach passes to player 1 again who again sets back before the coach then passes the ball to player 2 who looks to receive on the back foot to open out and pass back to the coach. As the ball is travelling back to the coach, player 1 starts to move back into the middle as when the coach receives the ball, they look to pass to player 1 who sets back and moves to the outside of the opposite cone. Once player 1 sets back for the second time the coach then passes the ball into player 2 who moves off their cone. Player 2 then passes into player 1 who sets the ball across the cone for player 2 to spin off and meet the ball to then change position and repeat the drill. The players need to be alert at all times and have the ability to play one/two touch quickly. Each set should consist of 3 - 5 reps per player and should be completed at least three times.
