Receive and turn to move and combine to play forward


Description

In this session we are focusing on receiving and turning to move and combine to play forward. The drill begins with the coach passing to the player who looks to receive on the back foot to open out, before turning back to pass to the coach. The player then moves across the middle where the coach passes into the player who sets back and moves around the cone/pole to receive in space to touch and play forward. The drill is then repeated on the opposite side. The player needs to be aware of their surroundings and ensure that when they open out they touch the ball into space to enable themselves to turn. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
