Agility and quickness to meet the ball and combine to play forward


Description

In this session we are focusing on agility and quickness to meet the ball and combine to play forward. The drill begins with player 1 receiving and setting the ball back to the coach, before moving across the agility ladder. The player then receives and sets back again, followed by moving around the cone/pole. As the player moves round the cone, the coach slides the ball infront of the player to enable them to meet the ball and play first time to player 2. Player 2 looks to pull off the cone and receive to open out and pass into player 3. Player 3 then looks to set the ball into space for player 2 to move onto and play forward into the goal/gate. The players move up each time. The players should time their movement to meet the ball and pull off into space. Each set should consist of 3 - 5 reps per player and should be completed at least two times each side.
