Opening out to Play Through
Description
In this session we are focusing on our players ability to receive, open out and play through. The drill starts with the player back pedalling beyond one of the poles/cones, staying on the inside, to then receive off the coach. Once they have received the ball, the player takes the ball across the body, before playing through the gate infront. The player then returns to the middle, before moving to the opposite side. To progress the drill, the coach can play a clipped pass into the player to test their touch. Each set should last between 30-60 seconds, or a minimum of two reps each side.
