Agility, quickness & receiving skills to move out of a tight area

Description

In this session we are focusing on our agility, quickness and receiving skills to move the ball out of a tight area. The drill begins with the player dropping in to receive and set the ball back to the coach. The player then looks to scan and drop quickly to receive the ball and touch across their body to play back to the coach. Once the player has passed the ball, they aim to move to the side where they passed the ball to receive and set back again. The player then looks to adapt their body shape to enable themselves to receive the next pass on the back foot to open out and play forward. The player has to make sure they scan before moving backwards to assess the space, and that they stay light on their feet to move quickly. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
