Ball manipulation to change direction, drop and open out
Description
In this session we are focusing on our players ball manipulation to change direction and then drop to receive and open out. The drill begins with the coach passing to the player on the inside of the cone/pole for the player to set back and repeat on the outside. Once the player has set back for the second time, they look to move towards the middle. As the player reaches the middle, the coach passes the ball into the player for them to touch and turn back. The player can manipulate the ball however they like (drag back, V touch, cryuff turn) before then passing back into the coach. The player then looks to scan and drop to the deepest pole to receive the ball to open out and pass into the coach before repeating on the opposite side. The player should ensure they adapt their body shape to see the ball and to receive on the back foot to receive in space. Each set should consist of 3 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
