Receiving the ball to take into space and play forward


Description

In this session we are focusing on our players receiving the ball on the back foot to take the ball into space and play forward. The drill begins with the coach passing the ball into the player to set back first time. The player then scans to move back and receive. When the player receives the ball, they look to be in a position to receive on the back foot and touch the ball out and into space to then play forward. After the player has played forward, they look to move towards the cone to receive, set back and drop back to receive and take across back into central area to repeat and work off the opposite side. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
