Shifting the ball into space to combine with first time passes


Description

In this session we are focusing on shifting the ball into space to combine with first time passes. The drill begins with the player receiving and setting the ball back to the coach, before scanning and moving to the cone/pole behind. As the player reaches the cone, the coach plays into the player, who aims to open out and take the ball forward to then shift through the cones. The player then passes into the coach who sets back to the player to combine around the cones and back to the start point. For the tempo to stay high, passes need to be firm. Each set should consist of 4 - 8 reps and should be completed at least three times.
