Scanning to drop back, receive and take across the body
Description
In this session we are focusing on scanning to drop and receive to take the ball across the body. The drill begins with the player moving through the cones/poles to receive the ball off the coach. The player then sets back, before checking their shoulder to move drop back across into space. The coach then passes the ball into the ball, who looks to receive on the back foot to take across the body and pass back to the coach and repeat. The player should ensure they move back on an angle which ensures that they can receive the ball on the back foot, to broaden their options in possession in a game. Each set should last between 30 - 60 seconds and should be completed at least three times.
