Movement and scanning to receive on the back foot and play

Description

In this session we are focusing on our players movement and scanning to receive the ball on the back foot and play forward. the drill begins with the coach passing into the player who sets back whilst staying on their toes ready to move. On the coaches instruction, the player will move to one of the cones ahead to then push back to receive and set back. The player then looks to check their shoulder and move to the cone behind to receive, open out and play back to the coach. The player then moves to come infront of the next cone to turn the body to enable themselves to receive on the back foot to push the ball away into space and play forward. The player should ensure that they open the body out when receiving to take the ball into space. Each set should consist of 4 - 8 reps and should be completed at least three times.
