Close control to move out of tight areas and play forward

Description

In this session we are focusing on our players close control to move out of tight areas, and receiving skills to play forward. The drill begins with the coach passing to the player who sets back, before moving to the highest cone/pole. The player then receives the ball and works through the first gate to play into coach, and move through the next gate to receive and set back. Once the player sets the ball back, they look to move and open their body out to receive the ball on the back foot to push into space and play forward. The players body shape should ensure that they see the ball and also see the space where they want to take ball in to. Each set should consist of 4 - 8 reps and should be completed at least three times.
