Executing passes first time to set into space
Description
In this session we are focusing on executing first time passes to set the ball into space. The drill begins with the coach playing into the blue player, who sets back and moves to the other side of the cone/pole to receive and set back again. The player then moves back across the cone to receive and set once more, before the coach then plays to the red player who moves into space to play a 1 - 2 with the blue player around the cone to receive in space and play back to the coach. The timing of the movement is important when the players are receiving the ball as the highest player. They should look to move the opposite side first to drop the shoulder and take the defender away for the split second. Each set should consist of 4 - 8 reps per player and should be completed at least three times.
