Changing the angle of play to combine & take the ball forward
Description
In this session we are focusing on changing the angle of play to combine and open out. The drill begins with the coach playing into the red player who sets back and repeats on the other side of the cone. The red player then looks to move out to the vacated wide cone, whilst the coach then changes the angle to play to the blue player. The blue player then opens out and passes to the red player, who looks to set back into the blue player to enable them to take the ball across the body and play forward to the coach to repeat the sequence. The players must ensure that they scan their surroundings and have a positive first touch to take the ball into space. Each set should consist of 4 - 10 reps per player and should be completed at least three times.
