Receiving on the back foot to drive into space
Description
In this session we are focusing on receiving on the back foot to drive into space. The drill begins with the coach passing into the player who sets back first time. The player then moves on the outside of the pole/cone infront to receive. The player looks to receive the ball on the back foot, to then enable them to drive into space towards the pole diagonal to where they received. As the player moves around the pole, they then look to pass into the coach, who sets back before moving centrally, with the player then passing to the coach as well as moving centrally themselves. The coach then sets the ball back to the player once more, who sets back and then moves to receive again to repeat the drill. The player should ensure that their body shape is open when receiving the ball to control on the back foot and move forward. Each set should last between 30 - 60 seconds and should be completed at least three times.
