Moving the ball quickly to play around the opposition

Description

In this session we are focusing on the moving the ball quickly to play around the opposition and play forward. The drill begins with the player moving away from the pole/cone to receive and set back to the coach. The player then moves to the pole behind to receive and open out before playing back to the coach. After passing to the coach, the player moves centrally to receive the ball again and set back. The coach then sets the ball back across where the drill started for the player to move out and pass forward. The idea of the drill is to make the opposition think the play is moving across before reversing the play to then move forward. Intensity and tempo are vital for the drill to be realistic. Each set should consist of 6 - 10 reps and should be completed at least three times.
