Moving to/from ball to receive
Description
In this session we are focusing on the different movements to receive the ball. The drill begins with the player receiving and setting back first time three times, on the outside of the pole/cone, in the middle and then on the outside again. After the third set, the player checks their shoulder and moves to the pole on their left shoulder to receive and open out. The player then passes into the coach before moving short to play a 1 - 2 to play the coach into space. The players movement is to move across to the pole deeper on their right. Upon receiving the ball, the player looks to open out and play the ball through the middle of the poles, before moving back on the outside of the poles to repeat. Important factors for the player to remember are to check their surroundings before moving away into space, and to ensure when playing first time that they are cushioning the ball. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
