Changing direction to receive
Description
In this session we are focusing on our players ability to change direction to receive the ball. The drill begins with the coach passing to either player, who opens out and passes back to the coach. The player then moves down the line of the ball to play a 1 - 2 with the coach. Once the player has played the ball back, they move to the central pole/cone to receive again and play out to the other player. When moving to the middle pole, the player should angle their movement and body angle so when they receive the ball they can play first time. The tempo should be high throughout with the aim on playing first time once the player has opened out. The drill should last between 30 - 60 seconds and should be completed at least three times.
