Quick passing to create space
Description
In this session we are focusing on our players ability to play first time to create space. The drill begins with the player situated in the middle of the diamond. The coach plays to the player who pass back first time, before to the outside of one of the wide poles/cones. The coach then passes to the player again who passes back first time, and then moves towards the highest pole. Once reaching the pole, the coach plays to the player once more, who instead of playing first time, opens out and then passes back, before repeating the sequence on the opposite side. The coach should ensure that the player is always checking their shoulder to be aware of the space around them, as well as making sure the player is following through the ball after making contact with their passes. Each set should last between 30 - 60 seconds and should be completed at least three times.
