Sharp movement to play forward
Description
In this session we are focusing our players movement to enable them to create space to play forward. The drill begins with the player on the highest pole/cone. The player then looks to move away from the pole to create space and receive, before taking the ball across the body and passing back to the coach. The player then moves down the line of the ball to play a 1 - 2 with the coach, before back pedalling to the pole on their shoulder. The coach then plays the ball to the player who opens out and plays forward before repeating. An important factor for the player to always remember is to check their shoulder so they are aware of the space around them, and in games the opposition. Each set should consist of 4 - 8 reps and should be completed at least three times.
