Taking the ball into space with the first touch


Description

In this session we are focusing on taking the ball into space with the first touch. The drill begins with the coach passing to the ball to the player who peels off to create space to receive, touch into space and pass back to the coach. The player moves to the outside cone to repeat and then step in to receive, set back and move back through the middle to repeat on the opposite side. The player should receive the ball on the back foot and open the hips when taking a touch. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
