Set & Move to Open Out


Description

In this session we are focusing on our players ability to set and move to open out and play. The drill starts with the coach passing the ball into one of the players. The player then takes the ball across their body and passes back to the coach, before moving on the outside of the pole/cone. As the player approaches the pole, the coach plays the ball to the player, who sets back, and moves centrally to repeat, before moving outside again to receive. When the player receives the ball outside the pole, they look to open out and pass to their partner who repeats the sequence. The players look to move quickly, whilst maintaining a strong touch to keep the drill flowing. After a set time or amount of reps, the drill should change direction, so the players are working on both feet.
