Combining as a pair to play round defenders and into space


Description

In this session we are focusing on combining as a pair to play round defenders and into space. The drill begins with the coach passing the ball to player 1 who looks to play the ball across the cone first time. The coach then plays the ball back to player 1 who sets back before scanning and dropping to the outside of the cone behind them. The coach then plays the ball to player 1 who receives on the back foot to open out and play the ball through the player 2. Player 2 looks to set the ball into space for player 1 to move onto and play the ball through to the coach. Player 2 then repeats the drill. The players should ensure they time their movements to meet the ball and execute the right body positions to receive. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps per player and should be completed at least two times each side.
