Receive the ball to open out on the back foot


Description

In this session we are focusing on receiving the ball to open out on the back foot. The drill begins with the coach passing to the player who looks to move off the cone to receive on the back foot to touch and play. The coach then sets the ball back across for the player to set back before scanning and dropping to the cone behind. The player then looks to receive on the back foot again to open out and play. When dropping back the player should drop on an angle. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
