Receiving on the back foot to take the ball forward

Description

In this session we are focusing on receiving on the back foot to take the ball forward. The drill begins with the coach passing to the player who looks to peel off the cone and receive on the back foot to touch and play back to the coach. The player then moves around the front of the cone and back to the start to receive on the back foot and shift across to play. The coach then plays the ball to the player who sets back and then scans to drop and repeat on the opposite side. The player should pull off on an angle to create space away from the defender (cone/mannequin). Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
