Turning and receiving to drive away into space


Description

In this session we are focusing on turning and receiving to drive away into space. The drill begins with the coach passing to the player who is facing the coach. The player looks to turn using the outside of the foot to protect the ball when turning to then drive into space. Once the player moves round the cone they play back to the coach and move quickly to the opposite side to then receive on the back foot and drive back across. The player then passes back to the coach to step in and repeat. The player should maintain control of the ball throughout with touches with both feet and using the inside/outside of the foot. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
