Adapting the body shape to receive and play forward


Description

In this session we are focusing on adapting the body shape to receive and play forward. The drill begins with the player moving off the cone to receive the ball and open out to play forward. The player then looks to move to the opposite side where they receive to set back and move to the cone behind. the coach then plays the ball back to the player who looks to either take the ball in front of the cone or open on the back foot to then player forward. The player should ensure that they scan their surroundings and retain contact through the ball when passing forward.
