Transition and change of direction to replicate defensive movements

Description

In this session we are focusing on transition and change of direction to replicate defensive movements. The drill begins with the player sprinting to the mannequin before then changing direction to move to one of the five cones. After the player has moved to one of the cones they look to transition to move back to the mannequin before moving to another cone. The player looks to move to every cone before moving back to the start to finish. The player should ensure that they change their body shape and movement from accelerating to back pedalling smoothly by retaining a low body shape and staying light on the feet. The drill should be completed at least three times.
