Accelerating into space and maintaining control of the ball


Description

In this session we are focusing on accelerating into space and maintaining control of the ball. The drill begins with the player dribbling towards the middle cones. As the player reaches the highest middle cone they look to slow down to turn and dribble around the next middle cone before shifting the ball out the feet to finish. As soon as the player finishes, they look to sprint to the highest point, turn and then accelerate all the way back to the start. The player should maintain control of the ball when turning by decelerating and using both feet. Each set should consist of 2 - 4 reps and should be completed at least three times.
