Accelerating and braking individual and partner drill


Description

In this session we are focusing on accelerating and braking. The drill begins with the player(s) starting behind the line. When the coach shouts ‘go’ the players accelerate into space. When the coach shouts ‘stop’ the players look to brake as quickly as possible. If a player moves past the cones/line ahead of them when braking they have to return to the line behind them. The players should ensure that they get a lower body position when braking. Each set should consist of 2 - 3 reps and should be completed at least three times.
