Agility & Footwork


Description

In this session we are focusing on our players ABC’s (Agility, Balance, Coordination). The drill begins with the player sprinting to the pole/cone directly ahead. The player then turns or backpedals to the middle cone, before moving though the agility ladder. Once the player has moved through the ladder, they sprint towards the bottom right pole, where they turn and push over the hurdles using one foot in each hurdle to create momentum to burst into space. It’s important to relay onto the players about making sure they keep their heels off the ground. This ensures that their feet can move quicker, and they can react quicker. This drill should be completed at least 3-5 times depending on the age of the player.
