Accelerate and maintain control of the ball to attack space


Description

In this session we are focusing on accelerate and maintain control of the ball to attack space. The drill begins with the player moving up to the central cone where the coach then shouts a number/colour of a cone for the player to react and accelerate towards. The player then moves around the cone and then receives a ball off the coach to dribble around the middle and the opposite side to then finishing into the goal/gate. The player looks to slow down and maintain control of the ball when turning ensuring that the ball is close to the body and they use both feet. Each set should consist of 2 - 4 reps and should be completed at least three times.
