Shuffle and react to sprint out, turn quickly and accelerate


Description

In this session we are focusing on shuffling and reacting to sprint out, turn quickly and accelerate. The drill begins with the player shuffle across the two cones/poles until the coach instructs them to sprint out to either side. The player then looks to accelerate to the outside cone on the side the coach shouts, before turning and moving towards and around the inside cone. Once the player moves around the inside cone, they then look to accelerate past the outside cone to complete the rep. The player should ensure that they pump the arms and keep the back straight when sprinting, whilst slowing down and retaining a low body position when turning. Each set should consist of 2 - 5 reps and should be completed at least two times.
