Sharp movement to receive and open out to dribble into space


Description

In this session we are focusing on sharp movement to receive and open out to dribble into space. The drill starts with the player in the middle of the area. On the coaches instruction, the player moves to one of the mannequins/poles on the outside were they then receive the ball to open out and dribble to the nearest cone in the direction they are facing. Once the player has dribbled to the cone, they pass the ball back to the coach and then move quickly to receive the ball again. The player should adapt their body shape to receive the ball and scan to be aware of the space around them. Each set should last between 30 - 60 seconds and should be completed at least three times.
