Sprinting & Turning (Diamond)


Description

In this session we are focusing on our players acceleration and deceleration. We have a diamond set up with poles/cones, and a middle area in which the player(s) move through. The player must sprint around a pole and back through the middle, before sprinting to another cone. They must sprint to every pole before completing a set. It’s important to reiterate maintaining a low body position when turning, to retain balance and then enable a quick burst of speed into space. The drill should be completed at least three times both with and without the ball.
