Figure of 8 (Sprinting)
Description
In this session we are focusing on our players Sprinting and Turning, both with and without the ball. The set up is in the shape of a number eight. The drill starts with the player sprinting to the pole/cone diagonally opposite the start point. The player then decelerates to turn the corner and then sprints around the outside, before turning again. Once the player has turned, they then sprint diagonally across again, before turning and sprinting on the outside, returning to the start pole and then finishing by sprinting through the middle. We are looking at both our acceleration and deceleration, and maintaining a low body position when turning. The drill should be completed at least three times both with and without the ball.
