Changing direction quickly to move to the ball and drive


Description

In this session we are focusing on changing direction quickly to move to the ball and drive into space. The drill begins with the player sprinting upto the cone/pole ahead. The player then looks to turn and sprint to the next cone until they get to the end of the pattern. As the player moves past the final cone, they aim to move to the ball to use their momentum to drive into space quickly and play into the goal. When moving around the cones/poles, the player should ensure that they retain a low body position to manoeuvre around quickly. Each set should consist of a minimum of two reps and should be completed at least three times.
