Slowing down to turn quickly and accelerate into space
Description
In this session we are focusing on slowing down to turn quickly and accelerate into space. The drill begins with the player sprinting upto the cone/pole ahead of them. As they approach the cone, they look to slow down and gain a lower body position to allow a smooth turn. the player then sprints around the wide cone, and down to turn again before moving back to the middle to repeat on the other side. If the player is too upright when turning it will slow them down, so it’s important to reiterate the importance of getting lower, to then push off into the space. Each set should consist of 2 - 4 reps with rest in between and should be completed at least two times.
