Stepping, sliding and back pedalling to burst into space


Description

In this session we are focusing on different movements and body shape to then burst into space. The drill begins with the player moving up to the middle cone, before shuffling to the outside cone. The player then back pedals around the start cone and back to the middle to repeat on the opposite side. Once the player back pedals around the start point for the second time, they look to burst into space and past the furthest cone as quickly as possible. When shuffling, the player should look to bend their knees slightly and be on their toes. When back pedalling, maintain a low body position before returning to normal as the move around the cone. Each set should consist of 2 - 4 reps with rest in between and should be completed at least three times.
