Sprint & Backpedal
Description
In this session we are focusing on our players Sprinting and Backpedaling. The drill starts with the player sprinting from the deepest to highest middle pole/cone. The player should touch the pole when sprinting to reenact getting close to the opposition. The player then backpedals behind the right pole, to reenact getting goal side of the opposition. The player then sprints back to the middle pole, before changing body position to backpedal behind the left pole. Once the player has come around the pole, they will sprint back to the middle and back to the start. It’s important to change the body angle when backpedaling to the side in which the ball will be travelling. The drill should be completed at least three times.
