Maintaining balance to control
Description
In this session we area focusing on our players ability to retain balance to enable themselves to keep control of the ball. The player and coach stand on opposite sides of the agility ladder, with the player moving back forward and backwards through the ladder. When the player moves forward and out the coach throws the ball for the player to pass back in the air, before moving back through the ladder, making sure they are agile and aware of the space. When the player moves out, the coach will throw for the player to control on their knee and pass back in the air, before moving to the next gap to repeat. The player should move across and back for one set, using one foot all the way across, and the opposite foot on the way back. The drill should be completed at least three times, and a chest control can be introduced.
