Acceleration and ability to slow down and explode out
Description
In this session we are focusing on our acceleration and ability to slow down and explode out. The drill begins with the player moving through the cones by weaving and staying light on their feet and retaining a low body shape. The player then sprints out to the middle cone before slowing down to turn and accelerate to one of the two cones behind. The player then sprints forward again before slowing down to turn and explode out across to the opposite side and finishing by turning and accelerating past the final cone. The player needs to ensure they slow down to enable themselves to turn smoothly and allow themself to explode out into space. Each set should consist of 2 - 4 reps and should be completed at least three times. Using the ball can be incorporated too.
