Claim the ball and react to work the feet and save


Description

In this session we are focusing claiming the ball and reacting quickly to work the feet and save. The drill begins with the coach playing a ball in the air for the player to claim. Once the player claims the ball, they then look to weave through the cones and then move across the goal quickly to save. The player should ensure they stay light on their feet and don’t plant the heels on the floor, as well as retaining a lower body position when moving across the goal. Each set should consist of 3 - 5 reps and should be completed at least two times each side.
