Focusing on the first touch to open out and play

Description

In this session we are focusing on the first touch to open out and play. The drill begins with the player on either side. The coach passes the ball to the player on the outside of the cone/pole for the player to set back first time and move inside. The player looks to create space to receive the ball back and touch across the body to open out. The aim is to take this in to a game to be able to open and out and play forward by playing short or long. The drill should last between 30 - 60 seconds and should be completed at least three times.
