Sharp movement to shuffle and save at the near post

Description

In this session we are focusing on sharp movement to save at the near post. The drill begins with the player moving on the spot waiting for the coach to shout a number/direction to move towards. Once the coach shouts the number, the player shuffles to touch the cone and moves quickly to save. If the player can’t handle the ball, they should look to palm the ball away from the goal. The player should stay light on their feet stay facing the ball when shuffling whilst retaining a low body position. Each set should consist of 4 - 8 reps and should be completed at least two times each side.
