Diving onto the ball and reacting to get up to save
Description
In this session we are focusing on diving onto the ball and reacting to get up to save. The drill begins with the player standing behind the goal keeper dropping a ball either side of the keeper for them to dive onto and protect. The keeper then looks to react quickly to get up and save a shot played by the coach. The player should look to palm the ball away from goal if they can’t handle the ball. The player should stay light on their feet and move on the spot when waiting to react at the start. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times per player.
