Avoiding the Press to Play Forward


Description

In this session we are focusing on our players ability to deal with an opposition player closing them down. The drill begins with the coach passing to the keeper, before beginning to close the player down. The keeper looks to take their touch away from the coach, before playing through the gates. The player should adapt to the coaches body angle when closing down. Each set should consist of 4-6 reps, and should be completed at least three times.
