Handling on the ground and reacting to dive onto the ball
Description
In this session we are focusing on our players handling when on the ground and reaction to dive onto the ball. The drill begins with the player on the floor, with the coach then playing the ball just away from the player to enable them to dive and handle the ball. The player then rolls the ball back before moving back upright to repeat. The coach continues to play the ball in, before instructing the player to go which means they move up and around the pole/cone to then dive on the ball when the coach rolls it towards goal. The coach can play the ball into the player as many times as they want, with the average to be 3 - 5 times. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
