Working the feet to build momentum to push out and save

Description

In this session we are focusing on working the feet quickly to build momentum to push out and save. The drill begins with the player moving across a ladder (cones as an alternative) and then moving back across, aiming to move the feet quickly by pumping their arms and staying light on their feet. After the player moves out of the ladder, the coach looks to play the ball across the goal to force the player to dive and save. The player then gets back to their feet to repeat on the opposite side. The player should retain a low body position with the knees bent to enable themselves to push out. Each set should consist of 4 - 6 reps and should be completed at least three times.
